Swimming Pool Dress Code

Swimming pool dress codes are generally stricter than in beaches. Proper spandex swimwear is usually required and clothes made of cotton are often not allowed. This is for sanitary and drainage reasons as cotton threads can cause clogging problems. Additionally, indoor pools may have stricter rules than outdoor pools. Men are frequently asked to go shirtless and most of the time, wearing board shorts is not even allowed. As for women, swimsuits on the minimal side are the norm. However, going topless is often not advised. For those swimming pools that have high diving boards, divers are allowed to wear double swimwear to avoid clothes ripping on impact.
