After cleaning the pool’s surrounding area, we now move on to the dirt floating on the surface of the water. You can do this by using a leaf rake or pole with a net. What you do is just to fish out the floating debris and directly dump it into a trash can or garbage bag.

Do not dump it into the surrounding area as you would be doubling your effort, having to clean the mess again after your done scoop-cleaning the water’s surface. For scum or general dirt on the water surface, a spray of tile soap over it can do the job. The soap will make the dirt settle at the pool’s edges, making it easier to clean off.
