Poured-concrete pools are a thing of the past, especially with the advent of gunite pools, which has quickly replaced it over the years. The method of constructing poured-concrete pools are similar to gunite pools, but instead of using a steel framework, wooden structures are used as moulds where the concrete is poured.

This process makes the pool more difficult to build and requires more time to accomplish as you still need to arduously construct the wooden frames and then carefully take it out once the concrete dries. It is now clear why this pool type has decreased in popularity.
