Above-ground pools, as the name suggests, are built above the ground, which means that no digging is required. Instead, levelling the ground surface where the pool is to be constructed is needed. Later, a perimeter track supporting the outer wall is assembled. Sand is then spread in the pool area and the plumbing laid in place.

A vinyl liner is then placed over the pool walls. Then, water is added to the pool before the vinyl liner is smoothly fastened into place. A pump and filtering system is then attached and the pool is ready to be used. Above-ground pools are the least durable of the other designs and less permanent. However, they are the cheapest, fastest, and easiest to build.
